Emma is an award winning writer, director and poet.
She spent 15 years working professionally in production in theatre, film & TV, on a broad spectrum of work from experimental theatre group The People Show to the English National Opera, and Channel 4 Pet Rescue.
During this time she also wrote, directed and produced her own short films.
In 2002, she was winner of the National Orange/Guardian Text Poetry Competition. Her poetry has since been published in 2 books and used by The Open University. This led to a collaboration with composer Ruth Barrett on an album of new classical songs published by BDi Music.
In 2006 her script If Tomorrow Never Comes was runner up in the Kaos British Short Screenplay Competition. The judges: Kenneth Branagh, Michael Kuhn, Alan Parker, Nik Powell, and Stephen Woolley were all hugely impressed and described the writing as: “a very powerful piece of drama, sensitively executed”
In 2010 her short film Breathe won the public jury prize for Best Film at the International Zebra Poetry Film Festival, Berlin and in 2011 went on to be screened on the European Arts TV station ARTE.
Emma works as a freelance writer/director for Invasive Films. Over the last few years she has been concentrating on writing and currently has 3 feature films and an opera in development.
